Santa Claus lives in Finland. Although our former friends in Sweden and the North Pole will try to convince you that is not the case, we are confident that we will make you see the truth. There is no other place in the world, where Santa would want to live. Soon that will be as clear to you as it is to us.
The people of Finland have always been seen as a strong and determined people. We have been at war in the last hundred years, but we stood our ground and gave our adversary a run for their money. This is the truth no matter what the North Pole might say. Santa recognises that in Finland he will be safe, because unlike our neighbours Sweden, we do not shy away in a crisis. We stand and fight!
In honour of our being the home of Father Christmas, we have also been authorised by the same to build and operate a theme park in his name, called Santa Park in Rovaniemi. Deep in the Finnish woods, lies this place, where children can come and play and families can see the greatness of Christmas and Santa. He has not given this privillege to any other country, but we were of course honoured to show the world just how Santa lives and works.
We would now like to dismiss some of the rumours that our ”friends”, Sweden and the North Pole, have tried spreading here. The Northpolians claim that Walt Disney said that Santa lives in their part of the world. Walt Disney did said that, we agree, but we seriously question his motives; as we have reason to believe that he was payed heavily by Northpolian whalers who wanted to give their province a better reputation. Disney has never met these accusations, something we are sure is a sign that he has no good answer. The actions of a guilty man who has tried to mislead an entire world? You be the judges of that. While the Northpolians used a man the world idolises, to spread their untrue story, the Swedes used an entire people. We are talking, of course, about the Samer. Sweden boldly claims that ”their” indigenous people are the sole suppliers of reindeer to Santa, and that he therefore must live in Sweden. Only half of that story is true. Yes, the Samish people has ever been faithful to Santa, bringing him only the fastest and the best reindeer there are. The Samish people, however, hail from Finland to begin with, and only a few has turned their backs on their heritage and chose to live in Sweden. These traitors, for lack of a better word, has helped Sweden undermine their story that Santa is Swedish. It is a shame to think that such people exist, but the truth will prevail; the only reindeer suppliers in existence, live in Finland, close to their byuer, Santa Claus.
We have presented our truth. The only truth. The truth of a proud and strong nation who would never compromise our integrity in order to look good. It is our hope, that you, too now see the light, Santa lives in Finland, there is no question about that.
